Switching Sources

Switching Sources

Most classrooms and many other spaces across campus are equipped with HDMI source switchers. There are generally two sources to choose from, Apple TV and a Bring-Your-Own-Device HDMI Cable. To operate the switcher:
  1. Ensure that the switcher has power
  2. The blue LED on the switcher indicates which source is active. Click the select button to cycle through each source.
    1. Source one is the Bring-Your-Own-Device HDMI Cable, selecting this source will allow you to connect your own device via HDMI, this input is located on the front of the switcher (the same side as the button)
    2. Source two is for Apple TV input, selecting this source will allow you to connect via AirPlay using a Mac, iPad or iPhone.

Troubleshooting
  1. Ensure the switcher and Apple TV are plugged in and receiving power.
  2. Ensure that HDMI cables are plugged into their proper inputs.
    1. The Bring-Your-Own-Device HDMI Cable should be plugged into the port labeled 'input 1' (on the front)
    2. The Apple TV HDMI should be plugged into the port labeled 'input 2'
    3. The HDMI Cable that goes to the TV/projector should be plugged into the port labeled 'Output'
  3. Ensure that the TV is on the correct source.
